Plunk

I started blogging back in 2001, so to celebrate my 10th anniversary I have built this lovely new WordPress driven Website. All those years of customizing blogger templates paid off in so many different aspects of Web Development.

Blogging was a way to share my reflections, opinions, artwork, photography and most importantly a way to connect to friends across the continent in the days before Facebook and Twitter.

Twitter fires of rounds of  information like bullets from a machine gun. Facebook feels like high school complete with cliques and popularity contests. Blogging however, at least for me, felt like writing a journal. Their was a greater illusion of semi-privacy. In fact it was through my old blog that I met my partner of the past 6 years.

It’s been a few years now since I blogged at least once a day. My feeling is that the golden age of blogging is gone replaced by the quicker snappier less demanding social media, but it is the blog that I hold dear to my heart. Here’s to 10 more years.
